Hydrating Cucumber Treatment

This unique hydrator acts like a solid that turns into a liquid, which then turns into oil. Trust us – if you wantsomething with an invigorating twist that is moisturizing, gentle, smells delicious, and is perfect for those warmer months (hello, refreshing cucumber!), this is your new go-to. Use it on your lips, elbows, hands, feet – anywhere. Although keep in mind that coconut oil is not recommended as a facial moisturizer.

Ingredients

  • ½ medium organic cucumber
  • 1 TBSP organic, virgin, unrefined coconut oil, melted
  • ½ tsp organic, sweet almond oil
  • ½ tsp organic, aloe vera juice (or fresh aloe gel)
  • 3 drops of organic, pure vitamin E oil

Ingredient Fact: Cucumbers are 96% water, so it's no wonder they're so good at hydrating your skin. But did you know they're also effective at helping reduce skin swelling and puffiness?18, 19

Directions

To Make:
  1. Use a juicer to extract 2 tsp of juice from the cucumber. If you do not have a juicer, use a blender or processor to blend the cucumber until you can extract 2 tsp of juice. This can be done using a strainer, cheese cloth, or even a clean paper towel by wringing out the cucumber pulp.
  2. Combine melted coconut oil, almond oil, and vitamin E in a small mixing bowl. Whisk vigorously while slowly adding aloe vera and cucumber juice to the oil.
  3. In an environment that is under 70° F, allow the mixture to sit out for about 10 minutes, whisking every few minutes. If it's warmer, use a refrigerator and whisk every 2 minutes. The mixture will start to harden and have a beautiful, even, light green color and smooth texture. Transfer to a container.
To Use:

Apply anywhere and everywhere! Extra refreshing for lips.

Healing Colloidal Shea Butter Moisturizer

For natural relief of irritated skin, this moisturizer made with powdered oats (also known as colloidal oatmeal) has an anti-inflammatory and protective effect on the epidermis. It's an excellent option for those who have dry skin or are suffering from eczema, even if they are sensitive to other products.

Ingredients

  • ¼ c. shea butter
  • 2 tsp apricot oil
  • 1 tsp pure vitamin E oil
  • ¼ c. organic rolled oats
  • 6-8 drops of Frankincense

Ingredient Fact: You probably know that shea butter makes your skin feel wonderful. But did you know that this ingredient may help prevent acne, boost your collagen production, helps wounds to heal faster, soothes your skin from sunburn and insect bites, and may even help treat dandruff, arthritis pain, and nasal congestion.20

Directions

To Make:
  1. Using a food processor (small bowl attachment), grind oats into a fine powder (2-3 minutes), scraping sides of the bowl every 30 seconds.
  2. In a medium glass mixing bowl carefully sitting over a small/medium saucepan filled halfway with water, (double boiler method) over medium heat, add shea butter, apricot, and vitamin E oils. Stir often until melted, this should take about 5 minutes.
  3. Once melted, slowly add in powdered oats while stirring. Allow the mixture to sit for 2-3 minutes to absorb fully. 4 Refrigerate bowl for 10 minutes. Remove and stir in Frankincense. Refrigerate once more for an additional 10 minutes. Scoop product into a jar for use.
  4. Note: If your processor is not able to pulverize the oats to a fine powder, the consistency of the salve may be a bit grainy. To fix this, you can use a super-fine mesh strainer to strain warm mixture before refrigerating.
To Use:

Use anywhere on the body to alleviate dry, irritated, or itchy skin. It doesn't need to be sealed, but for long-term storage it should.

Anti-aging Whipped Body Moisturizer

  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 TBSP sweet almond oil
  • 2 tsp glycerin
  • 4-5 pumps AnnieMak Reverse Anti-Aging Serum
  • 10 drops of tea tree essential oil
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil

Ingredient Fact: For centuries, practitioners of ayurvedic and ancient Chinese medicine have turned to almond oil as a treatment for dry skin, eczema, and psoriasis, as well as a natural way to help prevent scars from forming on damaged skin.21

Directions

To Make:
  1. In a medium glass mixing bowl carefully sitting over a small/medium saucepan filled halfway with water (double boiler method) over medium/med-high heat, melt coconut oil and shea butter. Once completely melted (about 10 minutes), remove from heat.
  2. Mix in aloe vera juice, olive oil, almond oil, and glycerin. Allow the mixture to sit and cool for 5 minutes, then mix in essential oils.
  3. Cool in the refrigerator for 30 minutes; mix. Cool for another 30 minutes and mix again. Cool once more until mostly firm to the touch. This can take up to 3 hours.
  4. Using a hand mixer at a medium-low speed, whip the semi-solid into a creamy, whipped consistency. Transfer to a large glass jar (a mason jar works great).
    Warning: Shower may become slippery after use. Be careful!
To Use:

As the last step in your shower routine, grab a small handful of the whipped moisturizer and generously rub into your skin. Rinse off with warm/hot water.
