Ingredients

  • 1 fresh rose (organic, pesticide and herbicide free)
  • 1 c. distilled water

Ingredient Fact: Rose water has been used for thousands of years as a traditional remedy to help heal cuts or burns, and help reduce the likelihood of scarring of the skin.14

Directions

To Make:
  1. Gently peel all the petals of the rose off the stem. Rinse with water to remove any debris.
  2. Fill a small saucepan with petals and cover with 1 c. distilled water. Using a sanitized wooden or ceramic spoon, gently push petals below the water so that they remain submerged.
  3. Bring the mixture to a light boil over medium heat; promptly reduce heat to low and cover.
  4. Simmer for 20 minutes. Petals should lose most of their color in the process.
  5. Carefully strain mixture into a shallow glass dish and cover with a breathable material (such as a clean paper towel, kitchen towel, cheese cloth, etc). Allow to cool for about 20 minutes.
  6. Once cool, pour rose water into your bottle and refrigerate.
To Use:

Spray your face from 6-8 inches away anytime you feel the need!

Storage:

Best kept refrigerated.

Ingredients

  • Petals of 1 organic rose, rinsed and completely dried
  • 1 oz. Marula seed oil
  • 1 oz. Jojoba oi

Ingredient Fact: Lightweight and easily absorbed by the skin, marula seed oil has the potential to help smooth and soften fine lines and stretch marks by keeping your skin well hydrated.15

Directions

To Make:
  1. Allow rose petals to dry out on a clean kitchen towel thoroughly before using.
  2. Using a small saucepan, bring 3-4 inches of water to a boil.
  3. Meanwhile, bruise rose petals by rubbing and tearing them apart, then place them in a sanitized mason jar. Add oils and swirl to mix, then seal the jar.
  4. Remove pan from the stove and place the mason jar in the water for 20 minutes.
  5. Move mason jar to a warm, sunny spot and allow it to sit for 24-36 hours.
  6. Strain petals into a sealable glass jar using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
  7. Note: If you prefer a stronger rose essense, you can repeat the process with the strained oil.
To Use:

Pat 4-5 drops on clean skin until absorbed, or massage up and outward, extending to your neckline to promote lymphatic drainage.

Use face oil as the last step before adding SPF (moisturizer first, if using one).

If you are using a moisturizer first and have oily skin, rub the rose oil in your palms, then pat gently onto your face.
